How I Got Started
Growing up in the mountains of Southwest VA and living near the beach / water for most of my life thereafter, I have always found solace in the peacefulness and joy Mother Nature provides. Whether it is just chilling, active in water sports or searching (for shells, shark’s teeth, fish, birds, animals, knowledge….), I find myself wanting to be outside when at all possible.
As I have aged, I have also found my limited TV interest now lie in things like Animal Planet, History, Discovery, Science, Travel Channels (beyond all things sports) and am finding new interests from watching new explorers like the Lagina’s (Curse of Oak Island 
) and Josh Gates (Destination Unknown and X
), Now I get to bring it all together through my new Gunny’s Underground and an hopefully share my adventures, learning and findings with others of similar interest.
Top Destinations
I have been fortunate to live in some great areas of the country, and learned a lot about the outdoors while in SWVA. Loved the Northern & Southern California coasts and her mountains, the plains of east TX, Chesapeake Bay and now the beaches of the great State of FL
Through many years of work and family travels, and a 25,000 mile Charity ride on my ’99 Harley, I Called My Serve Somebody Tour, I have visited 45 of our Greats States, most every Province in Canada as well as a variety of beautiful locations in Mexico and the Caribbean. Oh... India, so beautiful.
My favorite place….it is definitely where I am at that given time. Taking every moment possible to take it all in and enjoy. Pictures help spark many great memories.
